I'm 18, and live in a nice small town near Gloucester, England. (Gloucester is a very boring city: the most exciting thing that ever happened here was that they filmed Harry Potter in the cathedral...). I've just left school, with a place to study English with Creative Writing at Warwick University next year. Writing is more than a hobby, it's my passion and has been so for as long as I can remember, and it's my ambition to be a novelist. Failing that I'd love to work for the BBC, or basically anything that involves creativity and stories. Fiction is so much more exciting than real life. :p

I'm a multi-fandom fangirl, particularly (and unhealthily) obsessed with Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and the new Doctor Who. I also love Lost, and loads of recent British TV series like Green Wing (which may just be the funniest thing ever broadcast) and Life on Mars. I'm a fan of vintage comedy like The Goons, and the original Hitch Hiker's Guide radio series - basically, I'll laugh at anything. I love theatre and films, but most of all, reading: awesome as film can be, nothing can beat a good book. I've recently been enjoying the Orange shortlist nominees, and daydreaming as ever about being published one day...

I've recently broken my lifelong resolution of Doing As Little Strenuous Activity As Possible by signing up to go trecking in Morocco, so many of my posts this summer are likely to concern reluctant trips to the gym/training hikes/mounting terror at my impending doom on a North African mountainside.

I'm new to Livejournal, a TOTAL ignoramus about all things computer-ish. I'm not quite sure what the etiquette is for friending people, so at the moment I'm in the process of friending random people whose posts I like.
